Terms of use

These Terms govern access to BreederDex and its directory, account, communication, review, verification, listing, and advertising services. By using BreederDex, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement. You are responsible for accurate registration information, safeguarding your credentials, activity under your account, and promptly notifying us of unauthorized access. We may require email confirmation or additional verification.

Directory service—not a transaction party

BreederDex is an online index that helps users discover and connect with breeders and related professionals. BreederDex is not a breeder, veterinarian, animal broker, seller, buyer, payment intermediary, escrow provider, insurer, or party to transactions between users. Search order, badges, reviews, featured placement, and advertising do not constitute an endorsement or guarantee.

User content and license

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant BreederDex a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, format, display, distribute, and use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, promote, and improve the service. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed for all text, images, trademarks, links, and other material you submit.

Acceptable use

You may not submit unlawful, deceptive, infringing, abusive, discriminatory, malicious, or materially misleading content; impersonate others; scrape or access the service by unauthorized automated means; evade security or rate limits; introduce malware; manipulate reviews or metrics; expose another person’s sensitive information without authority; or use BreederDex to facilitate unlawful animal sales, mistreatment, or prohibited activity.

Verification, reviews, and moderation

Verification describes materials reviewed at a point in time and is not continuous monitoring, certification, or a guarantee. Reviews represent individual users. We may investigate, label, limit, reject, hide, suspend, preserve, or remove content, listings, badges, advertisements, or accounts to enforce these Terms, protect users, comply with law, or protect the service. We are not required to publish any submission.

Transactions and animal welfare

Users are solely responsible for due diligence, identity checks, veterinary advice, inspections, contracts, payments, transportation, licensing, taxes, animal-welfare compliance, and transaction decisions. Never rely on a profile, badge, review, or advertisement as a substitute for independent verification.

Advertising applications and creative approval

Advertising inventory is subject to application review, availability, relevance, payment, and final creative approval. Advertisers must provide accurate claims, a functioning destination, accessible image descriptions, and proof of rights when requested. BreederDex may request revisions or reject creative. A paid campaign begins only when both payment is confirmed and BreederDex approves the creative. Adding paid advertisements does not remove BreederDex’s default banner-text rotation.

Recurring advertising charges

Daily, weekly, and monthly placements are recurring subscriptions. The price and interval shown immediately before Checkout are the amount and frequency you authorize. The subscription automatically renews and the payment method is charged at each interval until canceled. Stripe processes payments and may provide a hosted billing portal. You authorize BreederDex and Stripe to store the payment method through Stripe and initiate recurring charges. BreederDex does not receive full card numbers.

Cancellation, failed payments, and refunds

You may cancel through the billing portal. Unless otherwise stated at purchase, cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid billing period and prevents later renewals. A failed, disputed, reversed, or refunded payment may pause or end placement. Charges are non-refundable after a placement goes live, except where law requires otherwise. If BreederDex rejects the creative or cannot provide an approved placement, BreederDex will cancel the subscription and provide an appropriate refund or credit. Any discretionary or prorated remedy is determined from actual undelivered time; advertising performance is not guaranteed.

Prices and taxes

Prices are displayed in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise. Advertisers are responsible for applicable taxes, duties, and similar charges. BreederDex may calculate and collect tax where it is registered or required to do so. Tax treatment depends on the customer’s location and applicable law and may change.

Third-party services

BreederDex relies on third parties including Supabase, Railway, and Stripe. Their separate terms and privacy practices may apply. We are not responsible for third-party sites reached through profiles or advertisements.

Intellectual property

BreederDex’s software, design, branding, and original content are protected by law. Except for the limited right to use the service under these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.

Termination

You may stop using BreederDex at any time. We may restrict or terminate access for violations, risk, nonpayment, legal requirements, or service protection. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including payment obligations, licenses already granted, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and dispute terms—remain effective.

Disclaimers

BreederDex is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and results. We do not warrant user identity, breeder practices, animal health, legal compliance, advertising performance, or uninterrupted operation.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BreederDex and its owners, personnel, and providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, reputational harm, user conduct, animal condition, or third-party transactions. BreederDex’s aggregate liability for a claim will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid BreederDex during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so they apply only to the extent permitted.

Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold BreederDex and its owners, personnel, and providers harmless from claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your content, advertisements, transactions, legal violations, infringement, misuse of the service, or breach of these Terms.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Georgia law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, you agree to send a written description to support@breederdex.com and allow 30 days for an informal resolution. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, courts with jurisdiction in Georgia will have exclusive venue. Nothing here waives rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date and, when appropriate, additional notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
